Letter of Intent 2025-2026

This letter is a formal expression of our school's commitment to the inclusion, acceptance, and respect of al students through the implementation of Unified Champion Schools. Our students and teachers wil make efforts to continually improve as an inclusive community for everyone, especially students with Intellectual Disabilities (ID). Students with and without DI wil be empowered to lead the efforts to improve the climate at our school with teacher and administrative support.

Unified Sports Please select one or two sports/fitness activities per semester. Build your unified teams, select a coach, create apractice schedule and plan your games. SOMS wil provide certification and training for coaches and liaisons at no cost. Sports equipment and uniforms wil also be provided on a limited basis.

Youth Leadership • Unified Club/Partners Club (Open enrollment like other on-campus clubs.) • Youth Activation Council (8 members or fewer with and without Intellectual Disabilities. This group works together throughout the year to educate, motivate, and activate youth ot become agents of change ni their communities and advocate for the respect, inclusion, and acceptance of al people, regardless of abilities.) • Youth Leadership Experience (Offer students an opportunity to develop and deliver presentations, participate ni Inclusive Youth Leadership Conferences, and network with youth leaders at other schools or in other youth-based community organizations.)
